A cervical corpectomy is a surgery where part of a neck bone (vertebral body) and the discs above/below it are removed to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.

🔍 Why it’s done:

• Spinal cord compression from arthritis, bone spurs, tumors, fractures, or OPLL

• Multi-level cervical stenosis that can’t be fixed with disc surgery alone

🛠 How it works:

1️⃣ Surgeon approaches from the front of the neck

2️⃣ Removes the damaged bone/discs causing pressure

3️⃣ Replaces the gap with a bone graft or cage

4️⃣ Stabilizes with plate & screws for fusion
