Patient Testimonial – 4 Months After Revision Neck Surgery Following a Failed Surgery Abroad

This patient had been suffering from chronic cervical radiculomyelopathy with cervicobrachialgia, along with persistent neck and arm pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness, and an intermittent unsteady gait, following a previous cervical spine surgery (cervical disc replacement) performed abroad four years earlier.
Revision surgery confirmed failure of the cervical disc prostheses, including a fractured implant at the C6–C7 level. I performed explantation of both prostheses, complete decompression of the spinal cord from C5 to C7, including undercutting of C5, C6, and C7, as well as complete resection of the posterior longitudinal ligament (PLL) from C5 to C7. Spinal stability and cervical alignment were then restored with an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) from C5 to C7.
